Texas Grain & Feed Association's efforts to enhance it's political voice extends to the political minds of up and coming college graduates not only curious about the inner-workings of Washington, but passionate about Agriculture and the Natural Resources of our state and nation.
Program Summary
Texas Grain & Feed Association has teamed with Texas A&M University in support of the Agricultural and Natural Resources Public Policy Congressional Internship Program. The program has sent outstanding sutdents from the Texas A&M University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (COALS) to live and work as interns for a semester in both Washington, D.C. and Austin. The opportunity to learn about the policy process first-hand is a life-changing experience that molds a new generation of leaders.
In Washington, students work for members of Texas congressional delegation, the House Committee on Agriculture and select agencies such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Students gain invaluable communication, interpersonal and job skills that are highly beneficial when they enter the job market, graduate school and the community. Participants return with a desire to become more involved citizens and are prime examples of leaders for the 21st Century.
Goals Success is easy to recognize! With 50+ alumni in policy positions in Washington and 20+ in Austin, alumni of the ANRP Internship Program are making a difference in our world. Success, however, does come with a pricetag. And, the situation is amplified by the increasing demand for additional interns from the program and the university's desire to continue to provide housing and services for the students. Generous support from donors such as TGFA is essential for the continued success of the ANRP Internship Program.
Your Contribution As a member of TGFA, you are helping to support and contribute to this worthwhile cause. TGFA appreciates your willingness to give and afford the opportunity for one or more students to participate.
